The woke police are finding their way into every aspect of our lives, even our cell phones at this point. And you have no choice in the matter, if you want to keep your software up to date. Users who have iPhones will now be “blessed” with a whole group of emojis, including a “pregnant man” emoji and a “pregnant person” emoji. Also, instead of just having men and women as an option in the emoji categories, they will now include a “person” category as well.
These biology-denying characters were made simply for the tried-and-true liberal push for “inclusivity.” However, they were already available on Emojipedia back in September. At that time, a spokesperson from Emojipedia said that transgender men, people that are non-binary and women who have short hair could use the emojis, but they weren’t limited to those groups.
The group says that there’s no wrong or right way to use emojis, and they are adding the new ones to help have more consistent, exclusive and expansive options for all users.
Jason Snively, a writer over at AppleInsider addressed the new Pregnant Man emoji and other new ones, as well as the outrage over the new emojis.
He says the level of outrage that’s come from an object as innocuous as emojis is ridiculous. He says that there have been many stories and headlines attacking people of different genders, political stances and orientations all because of the new emoji. He says the new emoji system is just a new way for people to build custom emojis and fit all the people who use them.
He also said, “The emoji combination was assembled with not an iota of identity politics. The fact that it exists is no more of an ideologically-planted flag than stacking three Lego bricks together.”
Critics of the new system claim that these blatant denials of biology shouldn’t be pushed by these powerful conglomerates. Snively, of course, didn’t address any of the scientific points that come with men becoming pregnant. This is because he’s simply hiding behind a ruse of denying biology by pretending he is only concerned with the technological aspects of the new system. But this is false.
iPhone users will have access to these emojis later in the year.
