Because then-PA Democratic Senate contender John Fetterman did not appear to be doing well on the campaign trail after he suffered a stroke in May, just before the primary, his wife Gisele frequently has spoken on his behalf, whether it was to introduce him at an event or answering questions throughout interviews as well as other public speaking engagements at which she seemed to take delight in taking the lead.
Her proclivity for doing this triggered concerns and questions from John Fetterman’s critics as well as some in the mainstream media at the time, all of whom started wondering who was in charge of things during the campaign and, more importantly, whether Pennsylvanians could anticipate more of the same if Fetterman was elected.
After defeating Republican candidate Mehmet Oz last Tuesday, John Fetterman is officially Senator-elect. This happened on Fetterman’s first day of orientation in Washington, D.C.:

“Also, I was a few hours through Senate spouse training… when a person commented, ‘I adore your dress.’ ‘Thank you; it’s thrift!’ $12!” She later tweeted since that’s what everyone wanted to know.
To not be outdone, a John Fetterman adviser issued an update about what he’d be wearing to work every day when a Huffington Post reporter questioned Fetterman as he walked past him this vital question: Will he ever try to wear his sweatshirt here on Senate floor?
